Troye Sivan’s New Song is All About Bottoming

The year is 20Gayteen and Troye Sivan is living his best gay life.

The out-and-proud pop star dropped a new song titled “Bloom” and it’s all about… bottoming!

Aside from confirming the bottomness of the song in a now-deleted #BopsBoutBottoming Tweet, Sivan originally addressed it in an interview with Dazed:

In other words, “Bloom” is a gay anthem for bottoms, and when I ask Sivan if that’s what the song is about, he plays coy but pretty much gives away the answer. “It’s 100 per cent about flowers! That’s all it is,” he says with a wink. “Call it whatever you wanna call it. I wanna play that song at every Pride.”

Even without confirmation by Sivan, the lyrics of “Bloom” speak for themselves:

Cause it’s true, babe

I been saving this for you, baby

Tell me right before it goes down

Hold my hand if I get scared now

Take a second baby slow it down

You should know I, you should know I

(Yeah I boom) I bloom just for you

Accompanying the track is a surreal and out-of-this-world lyric video by queer 3D artist Jason Ebeyer. The video depicts the Aussie pop star as an animated version of himself with doll-like features that are signature to Ebeyer’s sci-fi /erotica/fashion aesthetic.
